Missy has been coaching at EMAC for over 5 years. Missy has coached all levels in the age group program and has been an assistant coach for Emmaus High School for the past two years. Missy attended and swam for Parkland High School and was named Mountain Valley Conference Swimmer of the Year in 1999. Missy attended Clarion University where she swam for the team and earned 19 All-American titles and was a PSAC Champion numerous times. Julie Carr Julie is a Lower Macungie native who began swimming for summer swim team at the age of 5. She spent many summers involved in summer club swimming and diving, as well as, life guarding throughout high school. Julie is in her 7th year at EMAC and has achieved an ASCA Level 2 Certification. In 2004, Julie took on the position of Site Supervisor of our SwimAmerica Learn to Swim Program. Over the years, Julie has worked primarily with the pre-competitive and beginning level swim groups. Julie believes swimming offers a multitude of great rewards including the building of character, promoting sportsmanship, fostering self esteem and confidence, and perpetuates a lifetime of fitness. Mark Iwans
Mark returns to EMAC 08-09 swim season excited to be
coaching at his alma mater. A 2003 Emmaus High School graduate Mark is pleased
to be back coaching in the Lehigh Valley. Mark swam all four years at EHS
under Mike Seip and Tim O'Connor; the best of both worlds. While at Emmaus Mark
competed at both the District and State level and was named captain his senior

Mark has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 10. Mark trained through the YMCA swim program and earned a state title in the 50 free. Mark was one of the original swimmers with EMAC. Under Coach Mike Seip, Mark swam for Emmaus High School where he was Captain of the swim team. Mark achieved many swimming accolades. He attended Clarion University and the University of St. Francis. Mark has coached many levels of swimming including lesson programs, high school teams, and age group programs over the span of 20 years. Mark has coached for EMAC, primarily with the Worker Bee group, for the past 3 years. Mark serves as the Director of the Respiratory Care Department at Sacred Heart Hospital. Jessica is a 2004 graduate of Emmaus High School. Jess participated on the varsity swim team and fitness team for all four years of her high school career. Jess was a member of 2001 and 2002 State Team competing in the 500 free. During her membership with the Emmaus High School National Fitness Team, Jess placed third in the nation at the 2004 fitness competition. Jess has spent many years with EMAC as a swim team member, SwimAmerica lessons instructor, and lifeguard. Jess has an ASCA level 1 certification. Jason Reinhard Jason began swimming competitively as an 8 year old for Trident Swim Club and competed for WET/PAAC over the fall and winter. He graduated from Parkland High School in 2004 where he was a three-time district champion in 100 backstroke and the current school record holder. Jason graduated from Duquesne University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Programming. While at Duquesne, Jason was a scholarship swimmer for two years. Jason's first coaching experience occurred in 2002 as the 9-10 age group assistant at Trident Swim Club. He led the age group from 2003-2006 while also being the team's head coach in 2006. He was also an assistant coach from 2007-2008. With EMAC, Jason is involved with the Senior and Bumble Bee groups. Diane was a competitive swimmer for thirteen years. During her high school and college years she also was an undefeated summer swim team coach. After working in a professional capacity, Diane returned to the world of swimming. She began as a swim instructor and coach for EMAC, under Mike Seip. She has been on the coaching staff at EMAC in many capacities for 9 years. Both of her sons, Sam and Eric, have grown up within the EMAC swim programs. Outside of USA swimming, Diane was Trident Swim Club's summer coach for at least six years. While head coach for two summers, Trident won ABE League trophies and ABE Championship trophies. Diane has also been the Salisbury Middle School head swimming coach for five years and the Varsity Swimming Coach for two years. Coach Diane has worked with every age group at EMAC including the high school elite swimmers and has taught both private and group swim lessons. Diane worked as an editorial assistant for the Press for seven years, often writing and photographing the EMAC, EHS and Salisbury swimming teams. Lauren graduated in May 2008 from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She now works as a second grade teacher in the Brandywine Heights Area School District. While at Duquesne, she swam all four years as a sprint freestyler and breaststroker. Lauren's coaching experience has been summer swimming for the past five years. She coached as an assistant and head coach for Meadow Swim Team for 4 years and worked as an assistant coach at Lehigh Country Club. Before Lauren entered college, she swam for PAAC/Parkland High School for 5 years and graduated from Parkland in 2004. Ken began swimming competitively at age 9 and trained in YMCA
and AAU swimming. Ken then attended Phillipsburg High School where he was the
captain of the swim team, and then went on to Lehigh University where he played
NCAA Division II water polo. Ken has been a youth soccer coach for 10 years, a
part time physical fitness instructor at the Allentown Police Academy, and a
summer league swimming official. Ken has continued to be involved in swimming
and water sports since college as a masters swimmer and playing in various water
polo leagues. Ken is retired from a federal government career with the military
and the FBI where he completed various fitness training programs including
completing the open water phase of US Navy Seal Training. Ken now teaches
physics at Pennridge High School where he currently coaches high school fitness

Gwen has over thirty two years of full-time educational employment as a Health and Physical Education teacher with assignments in Aquatics, Sports Medicine, Outdoor Education, and Sports Industry at the secondary level. Gwen is also the Mountain Valley Conference, Lehigh Valley Interscholastic Swimming Coordinator. Gwen has served as a Swimming Coach on a number of levels including Varsity Swimming coach - 9/80 retired in 6/99, compiled record 321-118 3, coached the 1993 PIAA Boys State Championship Team and the 1992 and 1995 PIAA Boys State Runner-up Championship teams, 8 MVC team titles, 63 High School All-Americans, 28 State champions, and 234 District XI medalists of which 84 were gold medalists. Gwen also served as the Long course coach of senior elite program with national finalist and Olympic Trial qualifiers for Atlantis Aquatic Club. Gwen currently assists with the senior group at EMAC.
