PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

 

IDEAL FOR:  3 & 4 YEAR OLDS (and also some 5 year olds) who are able to separate from their parents and can sit, listen and wait their turn.

LOCATIONS:  Steel Fitness Premier (formerly the Human Performance Center) at 250 Cetronia Road in Allentown

                   Emmaus Aquatic Club at 2546 Mill Race Road in Emmaus

SUMMER 2013 SESSION at SFP:  June 24th - July 31st for a total of 6 weekly lessons (No scheduled breaks).  Classes available on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:30pm and 6:00pm.

SUMMER 2013 SESSIONS at EMAC:  Session 1: June 17-28 (Mon-Thur with Tuesday as optional WLSL, Mon-Thur)    The    

                                                   Session 2: July 8-19 (Mon-Thurs, Mon-Wed)

                                                   Session 3: July 22 - Aug 2 (Mon-Thurs, Mon-Wed)

FREQUENCY:   One lesson per week at SFP.  EMAC Sessions are 7 daily lessons over a two-week period.  The Thursday and Friday of the second week are reserved for any weather-related cancellation make-ups.

STUDENT/INSTRUCTOR RATIO:  maximum of 3 students per instructor

CLASS LENGTH:  30 minutes

COST:  SFP Summer Session is $126 for 6 weeks.  EMAC Summer Sessions are $147 for 7 lessons.  A $20 non-refundable ANNUAL registration fee also applies.

SKILLS TAUGHT:  Gradual water adaptation, breath holding and release, movement in the water, submersion of the face, blowing bubbles and bobs with a progression towards safety skills such as back floats and basic kicking skills, streamlines, glides, kicks and "big arm" freestyle.

ADVANCEMENT GOALS:  Must be 5 years old to join SwimAmerica Youth Group lessons.  Exceptions for advanced, mature 4 year olds are sometimes made for Youth Group lessons at the discretion of the Swim School Supervisor.

NOTES:  Double swim diapers required if not toilet trained.
