COMPETITIVE SWIMMING

Program Overview

EMAC is building on its “Tradition of Excellence” with a restructuring of its USA Swimming sponsored competitive program. EMAC is designed to assist members in all aspects of competitive swimming by creating a foundation for long-term health and the steady development of its athletes. The development of a Team-first attitude, strong technical background, and impeccable work habits are essential in the goals set forth for each member at EMAC. BEE on the lookout for our new identity and mascot coming soon!

Families have the choice of a pre-competitive seasonal swim program OR the Lehigh Valley’s acclaimed competitive swim program. EMAC’s professional coaching staff is ready to maintain the Lehigh Valley’s standard in competitive swimming and wants YOU to join the swarm.

The information below will be useful in obtaining a general understanding of the EMAC program structure, its expectations, and goals. A more comprehensive packet/handbook will be available during our fall swim season.

Year-Round Competitive Program

EMAC develops the Lehigh Valley’s community youth in a year-round competitive swimming environment by promoting the “Choice of Champions.” Unity, persistence, dedication, courage, and responsibility are daily decisions that we expect of our Team and the individuals who make it great. These choices may produce an Olympic Champion. These choices will produce Champions in life. This process of developing champions must carry into our athlete’s personal, professional, and community lifestyles. Consider it our contribution to the Lehigh Valley: World Class People. Guaranteed.

EMAC supports an environment in which swimmers of all levels may develop to their maximum potential from beginner to World Class. The EMAC competitive program below is designed to enable each of its swimmers to systematically progress from the beginning to the elite level of performance by establishing clearly defined priorities, training plans, and performance standards for each level of instruction.

EMAC’s year-round competitive program runs from September to August. The coaching staff encourages all swimmers in the competitive program to participate from the end of the school year to the end of the summer. WHY? EMAC is progressive in nature; swimming during the summer (Jun-Aug) will help youngsters continue to build on the skills they have worked so hard on during the school year. What about Summer League? The EMAC coaching staff encourages our younger swimmers to participate in summer league practices and meets in addition to their year-round practices and meets. Parents should contact their child’s EMAC coach for a prescribed healthy balance of the two. **Summer league is an excellent time for EMAC swimmers to stand out above the rest as they have made a full year’s commitment to making the “Choice of Champions”!
